Thrust ball bearing
This type of bearing was originally designed to withstand axial loads, with a contact angle of 30 ° to 90 °. Designed for axial load. Like radial bearings, the types of these bearings are distinguished based on the type of rolling element: thrust ball bearings use balls, and thrust roller bearings use rollers.
The configurations and characteristics of different bearing types are as follows.
Thrust bearings require axial preloading to prevent slipping between the rolling element and raceway. For more detailed information on this point, please refer to the information on preloading on page A-62.
