Precautions for using bearings [ Germany IVE bearings ]

Rolling bearings are precision components that should be used in a standardized manner. Improper use will not achieve the expected performance. The precautions for using bearings are as follows:
1. Keeping the bearings and their surroundings clean, even small dust that cannot be seen by the eyes, can have adverse effects on the bearings. So, it is important to keep the surroundings clean to prevent dust from entering the bearings. 2. Careful and cautious use of strong impacts can cause scratches and indentations on the bearings. In severe cases, the bearings can crack or break, often becoming the cause of accidents.
3. Proper operating tools must be used to avoid damage to the bearings.
4. To avoid rusting of bearings, it is best to wear gloves when installing bearings, as sweat on your hands can cause rusting.
install
Whether the installation is correct directly affects the accuracy, service life, and performance of the bearing. Therefore, the design and assembly department installs.
The workflow is as follows:
1. Clean bearings and their associated components
2. Detect the size and precision machining of related components
3. Installation
4. Inspection after installation of bearings
5. Supply lubricant
Only open the bearing packaging when bearings need to be installed. Generally, grease lubricated bearings do not require cleaning and are filled with lubricating grease. Lubricating oil lubrication is not necessary for regular cleaning, but for instrument or high-speed bearings, clean them with clean oil to remove any rust preventive oil applied to the bearings. Bearings with rust inhibitors removed are prone to rust, so they cannot be left unattended. Furthermore, bearings that have been sealed with lubricating grease can be used directly without cleaning.

Installation method of bearings:

Due to differences in bearing structure, fit, and conditions, and generally due to bearing rotation, the inner ring requires an interference fit. Cylindrical hole bearings are often pressed in with a press or hot assembled. In the case of tapered holes, they can be installed directly on the tapered shaft or with the same sleeve.
When installing to the casing, there is usually a lot of clearance fit. When there is interference in the outer ring, it is usually pressed in with a press or there is also a cold shrink fit method for installation after cooling. Used in situations where ice is used as a coolant and cold shrink fitting is installed, moisture in the air will condense on the surface of the bearing. So, appropriate rust prevention measures are needed.
